Help & setup

Set up Daadang, use it at checkout, fix common problems, and report an issue.

Install the early-access build

Daadang is in private alpha and isn’t on the Chrome Web Store yet. Early-access testers install it manually and need the companion project running on their own computer. The extension download alone does not include that service.

Download Daadang v0.2.0 (.zip)
  1. Unzip the download into a folder you’ll keep. Chrome loads the extension from that folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions and switch on Developer mode (top right).
  3. Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder — the one that contains manifest.json.
  4. Optional: pin Daadang from Chrome’s puzzle-piece menu so you can reach its on/off switch and last result.

Keep the local companion service running. This early-access build gets its coupon list from the Daadang service on your computer at 127.0.0.1:4317. Testers with the companion project can start it with npm start in that project folder, using Node.js 22.13 or later. Ask the person who gave you early access for the companion project and setup help. The public website does not replace this local service.

Using Daadang at checkout

  1. On vahdam.in, add a product, open the cart and choose secure checkout.
  2. When the order summary and coupon field have loaded, a small daadang · Apply coupons pill appears inside the checkout window.
  3. Nothing changes until you choose Apply coupons. Daadang then tries the available codes, one at a time, in the store’s own coupon field.
  4. It keeps whichever gives the lower price — a code it found, or a discount you already had. Afterwards you can choose Check again.

Amounts are compared before shipping and tax. Whether a code works depends on your cart and the store’s rules. If you stop part-way, Daadang lets the current step finish, then puts back the coupon you started with.

Daadang never signs in, fills in your phone number or address, pays, or presses Continue. You always finish your purchase on the store’s site.

Where it works

Tested now

VAHDAM India (vahdam.in) — its secure checkout window, before you sign in. This is the only real store checkout Daadang has been tested on so far. On every other site, Daadang does nothing.

On our roadmap — not supported yet

Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, AJIO, Nykaa, Croma and Tata CLiQ. Each store is investigated and its checkout tested before support is added. Store names are used only to describe planned coverage; Daadang isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or partnered with any of them.

Want a store added? Note it in a problem report with “Store request” as the subject.

Troubleshooting

The Apply coupons pill doesn’t appear

  • Check that Daadang is switched on in its popup. After changing the switch, reload the checkout.
  • Make sure the local Daadang service is running. Open http://127.0.0.1:4317 on your computer to check; loading the public website does not check the companion service.
  • Use VAHDAM’s secure checkout window before signing in, and wait for the order summary and coupon field to load.

No better price was found

The available codes may not be eligible for your cart, or a discount you already had is better. Daadang keeps the lower price and claims no saving it didn’t find.

A coupon is left in the field

You can always remove or change a coupon yourself in the store’s coupon field before you pay.

Remove Daadang

Open chrome://extensions, find Daadang and choose Remove. Chrome deletes the extension along with its saved on/off setting and last result. You can then delete the unzipped folder.

FAQ

Is Daadang free?

Yes. The early-access build is free to try and needs no account.

Which stores does it work on?

One so far: VAHDAM India’s secure checkout, before sign-in. Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, AJIO and others are on the roadmap but not supported yet. Coverage details.

Does it apply coupons by itself?

Only after you choose Apply coupons on a supported checkout. It never places an order or pays.

What does it read on the checkout?

On a supported checkout it reads the coupon field, item identifiers and quantities, and the amounts shown, so it can compare prices. It isn’t built to read your phone number, address or payment details. Privacy notice.

How does Daadang make money?

It doesn’t, yet. The early-access build earns no affiliate commissions and offers no cashback. If that changes, it will be disclosed before it is switched on.

Why does it say “before shipping and tax”?

Daadang compares the checkout amount before shipping and tax are added, so the savings it shows are for that amount.
